This is the day he said

This is the day we say
to mourn, to mourn, to grieve
to mourn our dead.
This is the day when in our grief
we seek the soul’s relief
through endless love.
This is the day to take up arms
arms to embrace
even those who would harm.
Shared Love
Having grieved and mourned
we seek sane solutions
ways to forestall all acts of hate
Having grieved intensely
we seek relief, to cure, to know
the minds that hate, and why.
Could not love at the start
supply the heart with the answers?
How can I hate if I love?
Forestall the words of venom
that curdle the blood of all affected,
of those at whom directed.
Love offered freely, Love
without bounds frees those afflicted
quells hate at the start
drenches both grieved and aggrieved
in showers of bounty, cures.
Go forth and love.
This is the day to embrace
and love, to conquer hate with love
this is the day we show our love.
